SAMK Teacher of the Year 2023 is Airi Westergård, awarded 14.8.2024
All SAMK students had the opportunity to vote for the Teacher of the Year last spring. SAMMAKKO’s board confirmed Airi Westergård, lecturer in the field of well-being and health, as the choice. The Vice President of SAMMAKKO’s Board handed out the certificate of honour on Wednesday at SAMK’s Staff Day 🏆
This is how Airi was described by the students:
Airi is a good teacher. She knows her job and keeps the teaching situations interesting. She supports the well-being of her students in many ways. She asks about her students and is always nice and lovely towards them. She underlines the beauty of nursing and the importance of education in her teaching.
An absolutely wonderful, warm-hearted teacher. Airi is present and listens and understands the needs and pressures of the students. Airi is flexible but also fair-minded and it is important to her that all students are treated the same and all have an equal opportunity to succeed. A big thank you to Airi!
