Suvi Savola, newly elected to SAMOK’s union board for 2026, with a rose at the federal assembly.

SAMOK acts as the national representative of students at universities of applied sciences. SAMOK works to ensure that students’ voices are heard by decision-makers and that higher education is accessible, high-quality, and supportive of student well-being.

This year, SAMOK’s federal assembly was held on October 30–31, 2025, in Seinäjoki, bringing together representatives of student unions from all over Finland to decide on the future direction of the union and elect a new board for the coming year.

The outcome of the federal assembly was very positive for SAMMAKKO: our vice-chair Suvi was elected to the SAMOK board for 2026! 🎉

Suvi describes her feelings as follows:

“The campaign autumn was long, but the campaign itself was a great and completely new experience! The voting at the federal assembly was really exciting, but in the end, a SAMMAKKO member will be heading to Helsinki to work for another year to promote the interests of students! It feels really good. Of course, moving and change are a little nerve-wracking, but I’m really looking forward to everything that next year will bring.” 🐸

The entire SAMMAKKO team warmly congratulates Suvi on her election win and wishes her all the best for the coming year on the SAMOK board! 💚
