It is time for representative council elections! 

In the Representative Council elections, 20 full representatives and 20 deputies are elected to the Student Union Representative Council. All SAMK students who have paid the SAMMAKKO membership fee in the autumn of 2026 or the academic year 2026–2027 are eligible to stand as a candidate and eligible to vote.

Advance e-voting will begin on Monday, October 12 at 9:00 a.m and end on Sunday November 1st 2026. The ballot box elections will be held on campuses from 2nd to 4th November 2026. The actual election day is Wednesday, November 4th.

How do I become a candidate?

Download the candidate consent form HERE, print it out, and fill it in.

You can join an existing list or create your own list by filling in the election list establishment form. Download it HERE. If you create a list, please notify us asap at vaalit@sammakko.fi so that we can inform others who wish to join the list to contact you.

3.
Election list establishment form and candidate nomination forms must be returned to the SAMMAKKO offices or scanned and emailed to vaalit@sammakko.fi by the end of the nomination period on September 28, 2026, at 12:00 (noon).

What is the Representative council?

The task of the Student Union Representative Council is to be the voice of the students in all decision-making. The Representative Council exercises the highest decision-making power in the student union SAMMAKKO. It outlines what SAMMAKKO does and ensures that the wishes and needs of students are heard in the UAS community.

The task of the Representative Council is to guide the activities of the student union and decide on SAMMAKKO’s major lines and operational resources. The Representative Council approves, for example, SAMMAKKO’s action plan and budget yearly. In addition, the Representative Council annually elects the Student Union Board and student representatives to SAMK’s Board, the Degree Board and the Study Board.
