SAMOK acts as the national representative of students at universities of applied sciences. SAMOK works to ensure that students’ voices are heard by decision-makers and that higher education is accessible, high-quality, and supportive of student well-being.

This year, SAMOK’s General Assembly was held on October 29–30, in Helsinki, bringing together representatives of student unions from all over Finland to decide on the future direction of the union and elect a new board for the coming year.

For SAMMAKKO, the outcome of the General Assembly was extremely positive: Atte, the Chair of SAMMAKKO Board, was elected Chair of the SAMOK board for 2027! 🎉 The Chairpersonship race was decided in Atte’s favour by a vote of 87–15.

Atte describes his feelings shortly as follows:

Thank you to the General Assembly for your trust! It is an honour to be able to continue working on behalf of students at universities of applied sciences. Thank you very much!

The entire SAMMAKKO team warmly congratulates Atte on his election win and wishes him all the best for the coming year in the lead of SAMOK board! 💚
